The annual Family Fun Night at East Street School was held on October 25th.  Mr. Thomas Welch, East Street Principal was happy to report that the event was very well attended. There were several fun and exciting activities throughout the building including cup stacking, family square dancing, arts and crafts, read aloud, and Trick or Treat stations.

“All of our students and staff dressed for the occasion; there were even some parents who arrived in costumes,” commented Welch.

This year East Street families were invited to drop off decorated pumpkins that were displayed in the hallways, alongside those that were decorated by each classroom. It was quite the pumptackular display! There were pumpkins transformed into the Cookie Monster, a ballerina, the Ludlow Lion, a scarecrow, a banana split and even an East Street Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Kellie Smith!

Welch wanted to thank Luso Federal Credit Union for donating the trick or treat bags that were given to all of the children in attendance.  Luso also donated  nine plastic pumpkins, filled with treats, that were randomly awarded to three Preschool, Kindergarten and 1st grade students who brought in a decorated pumpkin to be displayed in the hallways.

Welch also wanted to thank the Gomes Insurance Agency for their donation of cookies and punch for everyone to enjoy.
